FOREST SCHOOL - 2019 -2020

Fledglings Class regularly have Forest School Activities. At school we have a small forest area but each half term Fledglings venture out in the surrounding countryside where many discoveries are made and always take with them a special snack and drink to enjoy.

Robins class enjoy their weekly Forest School sessions. This involves interaction with each other where communication is learnt and confidence gained. 

This term Robins have been busy with :

• Water Colour painting  
• Autumn Leaf Hunt
• Tiny Autumn Treasures
• Pressed Flower Pictures
• Mud Creations
• Building Homes For Winter Hibernation - invertebrates
• Building Hedgehog Hibernating Homes 
• Clip Orienteering to encourage map reading
• Xmas Two in One table and spring decoration 
• Creating two Christmas Trees with Robins and Fledglings class then finishing with Parachute fun!
• Can you identify a tree in winter? Robins used an identification chart to help them today.
• Skeletons were constructed from branch debris and discarded autumn leaves.
• Garden Bird Orienteering
• RSPB - School Bird watch. I have never seen so many binoculars and eager children who were very keen to participate. Sparrows, blackbird, blue tit, crows and pigeons were spotted. Our results have now been submitted to the RSPB web site.  
• Building a birds nest with tweezers?
• Magic Wands - This was tricky at first but perserverance won the day.
