It is with great pleasure that I welcome you, on behalf of the children, staff and governors, to our school. At Clifton-upon-Teme Primary School we aim to give each and every child the very best start in their journeys: the experiences our children take part in are all driven by the desire to inspire minds; to open doors through which children may glimpse possible futures.
Situated in the heart of the beautiful Teme Valley, our small and friendly school provides a nurturing, caring ethos which aims to develop each child as an individual. We pride ourselves on providing creative learning experiences which challenge, engage and enthuse pupils.
As a small village school, all staff have a personal knowledge of every child, and there is a real family atmosphere. Our dedicated and committed staff team work hard to ensure that children can thrive and flourish – academically, socially, emotionally, physically and creatively.
Many children attending our school come from families who have a long association with us, many as pupils themselves. That said, our school provides a quality of service which draws pupils from further afield, with families travelling daily into the community in order to attend the school. The school holds a cherished position within its close-knit community, and our links with the wider Clifton community enrich our children’s lives in many ways.
Although Clifton is a wonderfully traditional village, and children have been educated on this site since 1844, our school offers everything you would expect to find in a forward-thinking 21st century school. The school itself is set in beautiful grounds, complete with Forest School, a wildlife pond, fruit & vegetable garden and, of course, plenty of space to play.
Our strong Values Education programme is an important feature in our school ethos. As a Values school, we understand the importance of providing a culture within which our pupils can explore their place in the world, be able to forge positive, rewarding relationships, and develop resilience and a strong sense of self-worth. We know that we have a vital role to play in the shaping of young minds, preparing them not only for the next phase of their education, but ultimately to take their place in society as confident, ethical, caring adults.
We have high expectations of ourselves at Clifton, and are proud of the exacting standards we achieve. Why not visit us, and see for yourself what makes Clifton so special?
Please make an appointment to visit us; you are assured of a warm and friendly welcome!
With kind regards,
