Fledglings

Welcome to online learning - not a simple thing with children so young, but together we can do it!

I will try to keep everything as user friendly as possible but if you have any issues or need support, please just say, either by posting a note on Seesaw or by using the email address supplied in Mrs Groves' email.

The website will be our main form of communication and Seesaw will be used, on the whole, for uploading work and getting feedback. Don’t feel you have to do every activity, but as a bare minimum please try to do some phonics, some maths and some reading every day, along with a little bit of writing several times a week. We found last time that those who kept their learning ticking over, suffered the least in terms of having to catch up later. Those who fully engaged with most or all of the activities even made good progress in terms of their learning in normal times.

Useful resources, including a link to suitable reading books, can be found here https://www.cliftonupontemeprimary.org.uk/General-resources/?skipHAP=y

The other activities suggested will be similar to things we would be doing in school, that we know are beneficial and that we know the children enjoy, so please have a go. For the main part they will require minimal resourcing and involve things you have around the house anyway.

Please try and regularly post a flavour of what you have been up to onto Seesaw. After time away from the children, it gets increasingly difficult to suggest appropriate activities that move the learning on if we don’t know what the children have been up to or how they have been getting on. The children love to see that their efforts are being shared and valued too! Learning does not always look pretty and is rarely perfect. Please just post it as it is!

You can upload in any way you like - a note, a voice message, video, photos, screen shots. There is a Seesaw app which works well too.
